Construction for new Tower and Heart and Vascular Institute

Work is underway on the northwest side of Carle’s Urbana campus to make way for Carle’s new Bed Tower and Heart and Vascular Institute. You can also watch the groundbreaking ceremony, see weekly photos of the construction site and more.

Please be aware of detours and parking changes around construction:

Emergency Room parking and traffic

• Carle's emergency room is best accessed from University Avenue. Emergency room traffic, including ambulances, should enter and exit Carle from the south at the intersection of University Avenue and Coler Avenue.
• Patient and visitor parking for Carle's Emergency Room is available directly across from the ER.

Park Street intermittent lane closures

• Park Street near Carle Foundation Hospital will be open as a one lane, one-way street intermittently during construction. The sidewalk on the south side of Park will remain open.

Coler Street, Busey Avenue permanently closed

• Coler Street and Busey Avenue between Church and Park Streets were permanently closed as part of the build site. A safety fence will surround construction. Please avoid the area if possible.
