Carle Community Flu Clinics Kick Off Sept. 26

Carle Community Flu Clinics Kick Off Sept. 26

Carle community flu clinics begin Sept. 26 and will run through Oct. 22 this year at various locations in east central Illinois.

For those looking for convenient ways to get their flu shots, Carle’s popular drive through is expanding this year. For more information, call (217) 326-5000.

“Keeping our community as healthy as possible is even more important this year as COVID continues to spread in our community. We’re expanding the number of locations this year to make it even easier – and faster – for families,” said Anita Guffey, Emergency Management regional director.

Additionally, to accommodate larger demand and need for social distancing protections, the weekday walk-in clinic is relocating this year to Market Place Shopping Center, 2000 N. Neil St., Champaign. This option is available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Sept. 29 to Oct. 22. Patients can enter the mall using food court or Finish Line entrances.

Carle requires a mask be worn at any of our walk-in or drive through flu clinics, unless medically unable to do so or a child under the age of 2.

No appointment is necessary at the community flu clinics. Carle Physician Group patients may choose direct billing and must bring their clinic number and insurance card to do so. Medicare patients must bring their Medicare cards for direct billing. Non-Medicare or non-Carle Physician Group patients should be prepared to pay at the time of service.

Seasonal flu shots cost $40; high-dose flu shots cost $70. Carle will not offer nasal FluMist this year.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends flu vaccines for persons age 6 months and older.
