Starting March 1, Carle will no longer support TLS 1.0 or TLS 1.1 over HTTPS on carle.org. Any older browsers that do not support TLS 1.2 will no longer work after this date. This change is being made to support best security practices and helps to protect your personal health information.
Why are we making this change?
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) as well as other security standards such as the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, mandate that sensitive data must be protected. Older versions of common transmission protocols are subject to compromise and a malicious individual could intercept your transmissions.
Every website that transmits or processes sensitive data has already, or soon will be, making this change. If you are using an unsecure or unsupported browser, you will find that all secure websites will stop working.
Most browsers have supported TLS 1.2 for several years. So you are unlikely to be affected by this change.
