We are Magnet®

Carle Foundation Hospital and Carle Physican’s Group, Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Carle Health Methodist Hospital and Carle Health Proctor Hospital all hold Magnet® designation, the nation’s highest honor for nursing care granted by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Nearly 5,000 nurses practice in a variety of settings from inpatient to ambulatory to our health plan. Each is supported by transformational leaders who give them autonomy to find solutions, integrate with their care teams, pursue research and grow their careers. The positive work environment elevates our world-class patient care and creates positive outcomes. Learn more about our Magnet designated Carle Health hospitals and clinics by visiting our Nursing Excellence page.

Supporting and Recognizing Our Nurses.

We encourage our nurses to grow their career through training and education by providing pre-paid tuition assistance. We also have a Clinical Nursing Ladder, a voluntary advancement program that recognizes and rewards nurses for their professional contributions. Carle also provides numerous leadership and engagement opportunities giving nurses the chance to grow and contribute.

Each year, Carle presents the Nurse Exemplar and Friends of Nursing program, a peer recognition program that celebrates nurses who demonstrate expertise, professionalism, mentoring, community service and passion.

Going Above and Beyond.

Nurses at Carle Health place patients, their families and our community at the center of their decisions. That is the basis of their professional practice model. Our team of nurses exemplify compassion and create the safest environment for the best possible patient health outcomes.

Nominate a DAISY Nurse.

Each day, our nurses give everything they have to care for patients. And, in return, we make sure patients get the chance to say thank you by nominating a nurse for the Daisy Award, a national program recognizing exceptional nursing care. Nominate a DAISY Nurse Today.

Carle Nurse Residency Program

The Carle Nurse Residency Program (CNRP) is a nationally recognized transition-to-practice program that successfully guides nurses into the hospital setting. Nursing students in the final semester of nursing school are eligible to apply. The 12- to 20-week (depending on unit) program provides orientation, coaching and support to make all the difference.

Student Nurse Internship Program

Junior or senior nursing students work alongside Carle's experienced nurses in Medical/Surgical, Emergency Department and Ambulatory departments.

Carle is dedicated to fostering the next generation of nurses and committed to providing a holistic and hands-on experience to help bridge the transition from theory to practice.
