Why do some of our providers not have a star rating? This can be for several reasons, including:
Joined Carle: 2004
The charge nurse came in early that morning because I came in early with seasonal allergies and I wanted to make sure that I could still have my surgery that afternoon. She listened to me. She took my temperature. She went and talked to the anesthesiologist and they said there was likely not going to be a problem, and for me to come back at my normal time. As soon as they took me back to the room, the anesthesiologist came in, they checked me over thoroughly, and he said the surgery was a go, and then Dr. Bane came in, and told me that we were going to do the surgery, and explained the whole procedure again to me, and he was...everybody was very, very professional. Everybody was very helpful, and it was just an overall great
every thing was fine but scheduled for 1030 and finally operated on at 2
The visit was professional but not stuffy. The doctor and nurse were very nice and approachable. All of our questions were answered. We are excited to continue care with Dr. Bane and [...].
While Carle measures many aspects of our patients’ experience, only the survey questions specific to each provider are used to calculate their star rating. The surveys asks patients to evaluate their physicians in areas like communication, listening skills and respect. Results are used to evaluate patients’ overall perception of care and to identify areas for improvement. For each provider, ratings from their patients are averaged together to form a single star rating.
ON Time Appointments Even though the screen display said Doctor was 60 minutes behind schedule - I always understand emergencies - but was very happy that I was out of my 3PM appointment at 3:45. Appointment before screen display said Doctor on time, 60 minutes later it said 45 minutes behind, for my 2:30 appointment I walked out of there at 5PM with no one giving me updates on the doctor's status as I sat in the exam room.
Dr. Bane is either a brilliant surgeon or I can tolerate a lot of pain. I think the former. He preformed knee arthroscopy for torn meniscus on my left knee and I have zero post surgery pain! I've taken no pain medication since returning home and feel great. Thanks Dr. Bane.
Everything and everyone was great.
Not only was I called back in a timely manner, the PA, Nurse and Doctor made me feel like my health concerns were very important to them
The total staff from the time I was admitted until I checked out was excellent. Every one of them should have a gold star.
I found the nurse empathetic as the decision of when I would be released was changed. She was as disappointed as I .
Thank you for the wonderful care. Amazing how wonderful everyone was
Dr. Bane is a uniquely talented surgeon. He brings a caring and accessible quality to his communications that both informed and reassured me. We are lucky to have such a provider in our backyard.
One thing was that when you'd press the nurses buttons in the hospital bed, that it would take a very long time for them to come. 20 minutes one time I waited just to go to the bathroom. So they need to be quicker, more prompt in answering the nursing calls when the button is pushed.
Great experience with the Carle team...
My care was fine. And the procedure went well. The problem I had was in when I was being dismissed. It was rather worried because things have been delayed and we were running out of time. So I don't think things were explained as well as it should have been.
Note: I came back from Chicago to have my surgery at Carle in Champaign because of my outstanding experience with Dr. Bane, the hospital staff, and home services. Two minor comments. Wondered whether noises in room at night could be controlled better. Also it's probably too much to coordinate but I was made to wonder whether nighttime disturbance visits could be grouped, ie vitals, medicines, blood. I slept in 1.5 hr increments all night. Least but noteworthy, I ordered tomato soup thinking it would be bland for post surgery but it was too rich and spicy for me.
A very nice experience and I was well taken care of.
Pleased with everyone who helped me. Dr Bane explain procedure well and very personable
I had good care and everything was done properly and with concern for my well being.
The post op nurse could be friendly and more concerned with her pt. Rather than getting him out. I was very cold and she said that was normal instead of getting more blankets. She really wasn't in much at all.
The nurses were very kind and caring to me. Dr. Bane was amazing in communicating and comforting to me.
