Risk Factors
- More common in people in their 50s-60s
- More common in men than women
- More common in African Americans
- Exposure to chemicals such as herbicides and insecticides
- Radiation exposure
- Immune system deficiency
- Autoimmune diseases
- More common in people with AIDS virus
- More common if overweight or obese
- Family history
Screening
There is no routine preventive screening for lymphoma or leukemia. If symptoms are present, patients will undergo a biopsy to diagnose the type of lymphoma.
