Breast Health

It is important that you take an active role in your breast health. We recommend you look for changes in your breast, including discomfort, pain, soreness or tenderness. If you experience any of these changes, you should discuss them at the earliest convenience with your primary care provider.

By age 40, the American Cancer Society recommends you receive mammograms every year. Mammograms play a key role in early breast cancer detection. Women under age 40 with a family history of breast cancer or other concerns should talk with their healthcare provider.

At Carle, we are committed to providing you with the highest quality of breast health care. Our fellowship trained mammographers specialize in reading breast images to detect abnormalities. Should an abnormality be detected, our team of experts work quickly to notify you of the result and schedule additional imaging.
