Colleen Kannaday to Retire in 2026 as President of Carle BroMenn, Carle Eureka
Carle Health announced today that Colleen Kannaday, President of Carle BroMenn Medical Center and Carle Eureka Hospital, will retire in 2026 after 15 years of dedicated service to Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Carle Eureka Hospital and the communities of central Illinois.

Kannaday has served as president of both hospitals for more than a decade, continuing in the role when Carle Health welcomed the hospitals into the system in 2020. Her career in healthcare spans over 30 years including prior leadership roles at Advocate Health and SSM Health, where she served at St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island, Illinois and Saint Eugene Community Hospital in Dillon, South Carolina.

Under Kannaday’s leadership, Carle BroMenn and Carle Eureka have navigated significant change while strengthening their role in regional healthcare. She is known for building strong relationships and teams, fostering collaboration across departments and investing in programs that keep care close to home.

Her work has been recognized through honors including the YWCA McLean County Woman of Distinction Award, Heartland Community College President’s Medallion, American Hospital Association (AHA) Grassroots Champion Award and the McLean County Chamber of Commerce Athena Award.

“I am so grateful for Colleen’s outstanding leadership and service to the community,” said Matthew Kolb, Chief Operating Officer of Carle Health. “She has helped to expand and improve healthcare services in Bloomington-Normal and Eureka. Colleen has always maintained a focus on keeping care as close to home as possible and building new healthcare services. We are grateful for her leadership and confident that our hospitals will continue to thrive.”

Reflecting on her career, Kannaday shared her gratitude for the people she’s worked alongside. “It’s my greatest honor to serve the patients, team members and communities of Bloomington-Normal and Eureka,” said Kannaday. “The dedication, compassion and integrity of our teams inspires me every day. As I joyfully look ahead to my retirement, I know our hospitals and Carle Health are ready for what’s next.”
