Carle Health announces that Beth Katsinas, Vice President of the Carle Health Center for Philanthropy, has shared her intention to retire effective October 30, 2026. Beth’s distinguished leadership has played a pivotal role in advancing philanthropy as a critical partner in fulfilling the Carle Health mission.
Philanthropy plays a key role in how Carle Health serves its communities. As a not-for-profit health system, Carle Health reinvests philanthropic support directly into patient care, community programs and local services that extend beyond its hospital and clinic walls.
Past philanthropic support has helped:
Since 2017, Katsinas has played a pivotal role in these initiatives by merging multiple regional foundations into a single model, enhancing governance and establishing philanthropy as a key partner to care, innovation and community health. She also led the launch of The Campaign for Carle Health, a five-year, $60 million fundraising effort supporting priorities across the system.
"Beth has shaped how philanthropy supports care across Carle Health and in the communities we serve,” said James C. Leonard, MD, President and CEO of Carle Health. “She has helped bring together our donors, volunteers and care teams in ways that make a real difference for patients and families in all of our communities. We’re in a strong position as we begin this search and we're ready to keep that momentum going."
Carle Health has launched a national search for the next leader of the Carle Health Center for Philanthropy. The role will focus on continuing philanthropic growth, strengthening partnerships and supporting long-term strategy across Carle Health’s eight-hospital system and network of care.
Katsinas will remain in her role through October to support the transition and ongoing fundraising efforts.

- Supporting programs that address whole-person health needs, including access to food, housing, transportation and other essential services through community partnerships.
- Funding patient-centered care enhancements and increasing clinical programs to spaces that support healing for patients and families.
- Advancing maternal and child health, early childhood support and community-based wellness programs.
- Investing in behavioral health and youth services, including philanthropic support for specialized care programs.
- Powering volunteer and auxiliary programs that provide direct support to patients and families across all Carle Health locations.
