Riverfront anniversary marks year of excellence in patient care and community commitment
Since its beginning, Carle at The Riverfront's purpose was to improve wellness for Vermilion County. By consolidating services from the Carle Danville on Fairchild and Carle Danville on Vermilion locations, care for residents stays close to home. The project broke ground in 2021 and after over a year of construction team members celebrated by signing the final beam of the building, signifying their important role both in the community and new facility.

The Riverfront brings modern healthcare to Danville. This location provides both primary and specialty services in a centralized location for ease in receiving treatment. The new facility aims to meet the growing needs of the community beyond what the clinical spaces at the Fairchild and Vermilion locations could house.

“In its first year of operation, The Riverfront saw nearly 130,000 patient visits, achieving a 93.9 percent patient satisfaction rate,” said Heather Tucker, MSN, Hospital Administrator for Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center and Director of Ambulatory Services for Vermilion and Iroquois County. “Several departments within the medical office center have seen increase in patient volume, most pronounced in Convenient Care who is consistently providing service for over 100 patients per day.”

To mark the anniversary, team members held a celebration internally to recognize one year of excellent service in the new location.

“With growth of need in the community in mind, the facility houses spaces for a variety of services. The campus also includes an extension of our partnership with Christie Clinic to bring high-quality care to the region,” said Tucker.

The Riverfront also meets the need for economic development, hosting eight thousand square feet of retail space. This storefront resides next to the Carle Health Sleep Clinic across the street from the main building.
Economic development in urban areas like Danville correlates to improved social determinants of health. These include food insecurity, access to housing and income level. The campus is also a beautiful greenspace for all visitors with amenities that benefit the community and team members. With the new space, Carle continues its commitment to Danville, supporting health and economic wellness.

Other projects on The Riverfront campus continue to benefit the community. The creation of a Community Garden supports food insecurity initiatives in Vermilion County. The garden also provides educational opportunities for local students to learn about healthy, sustainable sources of nutrients. Several community partners support the garden throughout the area including the Hegler Foundation and the Carle Health Center for Philanthropy.

As The Riverfront campus continues to evolve and grow, Carle Health’s commitment to Danville will continue as a trusted healthcare partner to patients of the region.
