Cardiac Rehab Cardiac Rehabilitation is a medically supervised exercise and education program designed to improve your cardiovascular health and reduce your risk of further heart problems. It also provides the safest location for exercise after a cardiac event.
Our programs offer three phases. The first phase begins in the hospital with education, assessment and supervised activity. The second phase continues with your recovery process and lasts for three months, or 36 sessions. Phase three provides long-term maintenance and supervision of your heart health through ongoing exercise and education. A doctor’s referral is required for phase two and three.
Intensive Cardiac Rehab Intensive Cardiac Rehab (ICR) is a fully comprehensive lifestyle management program. Rather than the traditional 36 sessions in cardiac rehab, ICR provides 72 sessions of rehab, with 36 being exercise based, and 36 being education based. These education sessions include 1:1 consults with a dietitian and/or health coach, interactive workshops on topics like exercise, healthy mind set, and nutrition, as well as offering live weekly cooking classes. Your ICR team will include a multi-disciplinary approach between exercise physiologists, registered dietitians, and behavioral specialists.
ICR is currently offered at the Champaign on Curtis location.
