Research Applications

Through Stephens Family Clinical Research Institute, located on the same campus, researchers will have access to an NCORP-funded cancer center, giving local patients access to nationwide clinical studies.

The CI MRI partnership provides a unique opportunity for Carle’s medical staff to collaborate with researchers in the search for breakthrough discoveries that will improve healthcare. Clinical research will focus on specialized areas, including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord repair and the heart-brain axis.

The MRI scanners will have significant clinical research time allocated. In preparation for the 7T’s arrival, the Carle Clinical Imaging Research Center (CIRC) was established to develop a research team that concentrates on MRI techniques for integration with patient studies at Carle. The CIRC is currently soliciting clinical research ideas from Carle providers and clinical investigators for pilot studies to be conducted at Carle.

Collaborative research projects are also in the works with several different departments at the university. Areas of university expertise include fast imaging, model-based image and spectroscopic reconstruction algorithms, and magnetic resonance elastography.

There are several open positions available, including a senior level director, as well as opportunities for starting and established research scientists at the assistant and associate professor level. If interested in learning more about these research positions, contact Andrew Webb.
