Volunteer Opportunities
- Assist with the day-to-day operation of Carle BroMenn Resale Boutique, a Service Auxiliary business. Opportunities include cashiering, assisting with donations, etc.
- Assist with meals, crafts, data entry and other activities.
- Visit patients and families and provide clerical assistance at the nursing stations.
- Deliver flowers and mail, escort patients and visitors, serve as greeter and give tours of the hospital.
- Be a Lead Volunteer and train new volunteers.
- Play soothing music to patients and families on nursing units or in the Atrium.
- Act as a greeter or receptionist in various departments.
- Assist with escorting, clerical tasks, and replenishing supplies at Carle Cancer Institute Normal.
- Provide clerical support such as answering phones, filing, photocopying, etc.
- Greet, escort and provide wheelchair assistance at Carle BroMenn Outpatient Center.
- Serve as waiting area host for patients’ families and friends.
- Pick up non-confidential papers for recycling.
- Conduct Hound Round visits with pet therapy dogs.
- Read to pediatric patients at Carle BroMenn Outpatient Center through the Reach Out and Read program.
- Complete miscellaneous projects.
Remote volunteer opportunities:
- Create compassion cards, make blankets for our veterans, sew fidget mats, or become a Carle Friend.
Many of these opportunities are available during the day, evenings and weekends.
