Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Carle Health Proctor Hospital and Carle Health Pekin Hospital are proud and honored to be named among the nation’s leading healthcare centers for nursing care.
ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) Magnet Recognition Program® has conferred Magnet® recognition to Carle Health Pekin for the first time. Carle Health Methodist achieved its fifth Magnet designation and Carle Health Proctor earned its second Magnet designation.
“This is a reflection of the incredible work our nurses do every day,” Jill Dodaro, Carle Health Greater Peoria Chief Nursing Officer, said. “We provide unparalleled, world-class nursing care and this designation showcases that we exceed national healthcare benchmarks in patient satisfaction, safety, and nurse engagement.”
Magnet recognition is a mark of nursing and organizational excellence. Hospitals attain the designation when they prove – through a number of variables – that they support and empower nurses and interdisciplinary teams.
Magnet’s components include transformational leadership, structural empowerment, exemplary professional practice, new knowledge and empirical outcomes.
Only 10% of healthcare organizations nationwide are Magnet-designated, and fewer than 1% have five consecutive designations or greater. Additionally, only 45 healthcare organizations in Illinois are Magnet-designated.
“In the Carle Health Greater Peoria Service Area, empowered nurses who engage in professional growth and seek leadership opportunities are a part of our culture,” Keith Knepp, MD, Carle Health Greater Peoria Service Area president, said. “This is further proof that our nurses at all three hospitals provide exceptional care to the benefit of our patients and communities. We are delighted by the recognition and look forward to remaining focused on attracting and retaining excellent nurses who provide world-class care.”
Other Carle Health entities that are Magnet-designated include Carle Foundation Hospital (CFH) in Urbana, Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal and Carle Physician Group (CPG).
