Carle Health nationally recognized for commitment to high-quality stroke care, treatment
Carle Foundation Hospital and Carle BroMenn Medical Center have received the Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for stroke care and treatment, a national recognition by the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Stroke Association (ASA). This award, paired with innovative technology, leading edge medical facilities and techniques, demonstrates Carle’s continued commitment to the highest quality patient care.
Carle earned the award by meeting specific quality achievement measures in diagnosing and treating stroke patients, including proper medication and treatment, speed of recovery, and reducing death and disability asGWTG_TS-PLUS_2020_Gold_4C.jpg a result of stroke. Demonstrated commitment to patient education, timely follow up, and ease of transitional care are also qualifying measures for this national designation.
“This recognition further emphasizes that when you choose Carle, you are choosing stroke care from a team committed to pursue the best outcome for each patient,” Amrendra Miranpuri, MD, Endovascular Neurosurgeon and a stroke specialist with Carle Foundation Hospital, said. “The tools and resources from the Get With the Guidelines stroke program help us track and measure these critical guidelines and ensure lifesaving success in treating our patients.”
Carle Foundation Hospital and Carle BroMenn Medical Center also received the Association’s Target: Stroke Honor Roll and Honor Role EliteSM awards. AHA gives this prestigious recognition to hospitals for meeting quality measures in the time between patient arrival to the hospital and their treatment.  
With accredited stroke centers in both Normal and Urbana, Carle features a comprehensive system for rapid diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients admitted to the emergency department.
