Carle Foundation Hospital (CFH) is the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in Central Illinois, featuring a comprehensive system for rapid diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients admitted to the emergency department. Carle BroMenn Medical Center (CBMC) and Carle Health Methodist Hospital (CHMH) are both Primary Stroke Centers and, like CFH, offer an inpatient rehabilitation unit for patients recovering from a stroke, or other illness or injury.
“We structure our hospitals to intervene quickly because conditions like stroke often come without warning,” Kuhns said. “Early treatment is most effective, decreases chances of long-term deficits and increases the chances of survival. Anyone can have a stroke no matter their age, race or gender. By adhering to the Get With The Guidelines® standards, patients know they are receiving high-quality, life-saving care when they need it most.”
