Carle remains committed to providing COVID-19 vaccine to the community and will offer the Pfizer COVID-19 booster dose to qualifying patients starting Tuesday, Oct. 5. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a booster dose for individuals who qualify six months after completing the two-dose Pfizer vaccine series. The CDC recommends the booster for those 65 and above and 50 and above with underlying medical conditions. Those 18-49 with underlying medical conditions and people with increased occupational exposure may consider receiving the booster dose with consultation from their care provider.
Carle is already administering the booster vaccine to qualifying team members. Community members and patients who are fully immunized with the Pfizer vaccine and meet CDC requirements are encouraged to schedule booster appointments today.
