Late September through October is the best time to receive your annual influenza vaccinations before it can spread throughout the community. Throughout the Carle Health system, flu shots are available by request during a primary care appointment or Convenient Care appointment.
The following flu clinics are also available for specific patient groups:

Carle Urbana on Windsor: 1818 E. Windsor Rd. - Urbana, IL 61802
· Appointment only flu clinics every Saturday in October and November, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
o For established pediatric patients of Carle Urbana on Windsor only.
o Flu, RSV and COVID-19 vaccinations will be available.

· Walk-in clinic Oct. 31 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
o For established Carle Mahomet patients only. By appointment only.
Nasal Flu Mist will be available for patients 65 and older or those who are immunocompromised at a scheduled Primary Care visit. Most health insurances cover the cost of the flu vaccination. Free or low cost flu vaccination options may also be available for those who qualify from state health departments.

Patients can also receive their annual flu shot at a Carle Health Convenient Care location, at the Carle Mobile Health Clinic, or at your local retail pharmacy.
Where should I go if I suspect I have the flu?
Convenient Care is a good care option for those experiencing flu, colds, or other infections that cause sore throats and aches. Community members should call 9-1-1 or be driven to the nearest emergency department when struggling to breathe, or when developing a considerable fever. Patients can visit Carle.org/GetCare for support finding the right level of care for their needs and to connect with local healthcare resources. Patients can also call the CARE line at (217) 326-CARE to ask questions about what care they should seek.
