Please join us in honoring the memory of those precious babies who are gone from our arms but forever in our hearts. Our annual Shining Light Infant Memorial Service will be taking place in the Forum at Carle Foundation Hospital. We will be remembering our babies along with thousands of others as we participate in the International Wave of Light, the annual worldwide lighting of candles at 7 p.m.
Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana will be streaming the Memorial Service online using Microsoft Teams. If you choose to attend this way, we encourage you to safely light a candle at home in honor of your baby. A link to the event will be placed here on the day of, and a digital version of the event program will be available on this webpage for you at the time of the event. To join the virtual event on a cell phone or tablet, you will need to download the free Microsoft Teams application, tap the link for the event, and allow it to open in the application. If you are joining on a computer, you will just need to open the link in a web browser. You will not need to pay or create an account.
While registration is not required in order to attend the event, you may use the form below to register your child’s name for the reading of names which will take place during the ceremony.
We will be hosting a table where families can decorate luminaries in remembrance of their loved one(s). Event will open at 6 p.m. for this, so please feel free to come early to decorate a luminary.
Staff will be present for support during the event.
