Carle prepares for weather advisory

Carle prepares for weather advisory
The National Weather Service issued a Major Winter Storm Watch beginning Tuesday evening through Thursday evening for our area. The event will start with ice and include heavy snow. Forecasters predict a snowfall beginning late this evening or early Wednesday. It’s reported we will likely see over a foot of snow. Travel will be extremely difficult.

To manage weather conditions and the safety of staff, some Carle locations may offer reduced hours or close. Drive thru COVID-19 testing sites in Champaign, Mattoon and Danville will close on Wednesday and Thursday. All immediate testing needs can be completed through convenient care location. Primary Care offices aim to remain open but are working to reschedule appointments to virtual appointment options when possible. Patients may confirm appointments and inform offices if they will be arriving late or need to reschedule. Carle emergency care services are always available and open.

Please prepare to travel safely. Before you go, make sure your vehicle has a full tank of gas and pack a go-kit. Minimally, the kit should include the following:

•             Battery jumper cables
•             Flashlight
•             Blanket
•             Fully-charged cell phone

Patients may call the Carle patient hotline at (217) 383-3371 to hear about any possible changes in hours of operation by location. Learn more about how the current weather conditions are impacting access to care at the Carle weather announcement page.
