Carle Health is continuing its work to strengthen healthcare services across Greater Peoria and ensure patients continue to receive high-quality, compassionate care for years to come.
Effective Nov. 1, 2026, Carle Health Methodist and Proctor hospitals will begin operating as one hospital with two campuses. The Knoxville location will be known as Carle Health Methodist Hospital – Proctor Campus, with care continuing in its current location.
This update reflects the health system’s ongoing planning to support stable, high-quality care that supports the needs of the community in the evolving healthcare landscape.
While there will be no staff impact, this merger creates a hospital structure that will help improve coordination of care, strengthen collaboration among care teams, enhance operational efficiency and provide greater flexibility to best meet the healthcare needs of the communities Carle Health serves.
Patients will continue to receive care from the providers and care teams they know and trust, and there will be no disruptions to services, scheduled appointments, insurance coverage or how patients access care at either campus.

Retaining the Proctor name for this Campus honors both Proctor’s history and its continued evolution to best serve the needs of the community.
As one hospital operating across two campuses, Carle Health Methodist Hospital and Carle Health Methodist Hospital – Proctor Campus will continue working together to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
