For many hospitals, delivering high-quality care while maintaining patient safety is a difficult task. But Carle Foundation Hospital manages to do so because of its strong, capable staff.
“Not only does Carle serve the members of the Champaign-Urbana community, its reach extends far beyond. These people deserve the highest quality of care possible, which is why we do what we do,” said Robert Healy, MD, chief medical quality officer and Adult Medicine physician.
Carle’s efforts led to its rating as one of the top hospitals in the United States. Carle is one of six hospitals in Illinois and the only hospital outside the Chicago metro area to make the Healthgrades Top 50 list.
Healthgrades recognized Carle with:
- America’s 50 Best Hospitals Award for the third straight year for “the top 1% in the nation for consistent clinical quality.” (Fifth straight year Carle has been recognized as a Top 100 or a Top 50 hospital)
- One of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Critical Care for the second straight year
Going above and beyond for each patient is what drives Jamie Holley, director of Quality Services, in her work.
“It’s so important that Carle delivers high-quality care to the people in our community. It’s great to know that my family and friends can receive this type of care where we live,” she said.
Holley is part of the Quality Services team that supports staff members through a data-driven approach to help measure, monitor and analyze quality measures, identifying opportunities for improvements to ensure high-quality care for patients.
Dr. Healy also works with many hospital staff members to ensure patient safety.
“In my eyes, high-quality hospitals give patients the best experience possible. It means that we do right by the patient. It means that staff members concentrate on the patient,” Dr. Healy said.
“Being recognized by outside organizations shows me Carle is providing this type of high-quality care.”
