Job Description

Carle Health is seeking an additional Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our expanding Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Division within Carle’s Heart and Vascular Institute.

As we look at our future needs across the system, Carle’s HVI leadership is focused on developing clinical programs that provide coordinated, efficient, high-quality care to patients in all Carle locations and across the continuum of care. To meet those goals, we are excited to recruit an experienced Surgeon with an interest in enhancing established programs, a desire to build upon shared physician group practice structure across a healthcare system, and value high-quality, patient-center care. 

The Surgeon will have an opportunity to practice at two locations, Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois and Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Illinois. 

Practice Opportunity Details Include:

  • Join a team of 3 Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons
  • 2+ years of experience preferred
  • Busy, ready-made practice
  • Candidates must provide case logs from the past 2 years as a part of the application process
  • Our Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery division features excellent support staff, including an experienced group of Advanced Practice Providers that assist with rounding, dictation, case management, and surgical first assists. CV Surgery workflow includes APPs taking first call from ICU and all units with surgeon back-up
  • Work collaboratively with strong ICU Intensivist and Hospitalist teams that provide 24/7 in-house care
