Armed with protein bars and exercise, pair tackles diabetes daily
People with diabetes must balance diet, exercise, medication and blood sugar testing. Early intervention and education can make a big difference in controlling diabetes and minimizing complications from the disease.
Nationally recognized by the American Diabetes Association since 1991, Carle Endocrinology offers more treatment options and year-round diabetes education programs than any provider in the region. With the help of our computerized diabetes registry, our staff keeps track of your care, reminding you of treatments and preventive services you need to better manage the disease.
Our experienced team of endocrinologists can also treat gland disorders including growth hormone deficiency, erectile dysfunction, polycystic ovary syndrome and problems of the thyroid, parathyroid, pituitary and adrenal glands.
The Endocrinology Department works in collaboration with Nutrition Service’s ADA-recognized Diabetes Program and supports the community programs.
Our physicians, nurse practitioners, registered dieticians and diabetes nurse educators offer numerous clinics and telemedicine services throughout our region.
Our physicians and nurse practitioners are available at Mattoon on Lerna, Danville on Vermilion, Rantoul and Effingham. Additionally, telemedicine services are provided to Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, Illinois.
