Carle Eureka Hospital

Providing the highest quality health care is the cornerstone of all we do. Quality data reporting allows us to share with the communities we serve how we are doing on key quality measures. Quality measures allow us to show how we compare to national standards.

Because Carle Eureka Hospital is a small, critical access hospital, many of the measures publicly reported by third parties display as “not available.” This is because the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and others consider the number of cases performed at Carle Eureka to be too few for a reliable report in some categories. Carle Eureka collects and monitors data internally, however, benchmarking against national and state averages to ensure ongoing quality improvement.

You may select from the list below to view categories for which our volume meets the threshold for data reporting.

Emergency Care

When emergencies happen, you need timely, effective treatment. With 24-hour physician coverage and a dedicated staff, we provide care for needs ranging from minor injury to life-threatening conditions such as heart attack and stroke. As an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital, we are ready to evaluate and treat stroke patients before transferring them to a higher level of care, saving literally millions of brain cells. Our staff is also trained for prompt identification and treatment of heart attacks and sepsis so that patients can be stabilized and transported to a higher level of care. Additionally, we remain available for treatment of our community members whose minor injuries and illnesses require immediate attention.

Medical/Surgical Care

Staff at Carle Eureka are dedicated to patient recovery, whether it be from illness or a surgical intervention. Beyond providing acute care for medical and surgical patients, we are able to provide skilled nursing services, such as those typically provided in a nursing home setting, to patients through our Swing Bed Program. We review quality data and set goals for improving outcomes so that our patients can have a successful discharge back into their community.

Patient Experience

Our mission is to be your trusted partner in all healthcare decisions, and we strive to make sure you feel well cared for while receiving our services. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid collect data through a national, standardized survey. This survey is provided to a random sample of our patients recently discharged from the hospital. We use patient feedback through these and other surveys to make improvements to our processes and communication to serve you better.
