Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
Provides nursing services for patients and nursing leadership in coordination with Program Manager for unit nurses. Supports the delivery of Addiction and Behavioral Health services to TrilliumPlace customers by the successful and timely accomplishment of these duties.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
College Diploma in Nursing and Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) within two (2) years of hire.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License Illinois upon hire. 
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum two years of behavioral health and/or addiction experience required.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Basic reading, writing and oral skillsAbility to respond appropriately to customer/co-worker. Interaction with a wide variety of people. Maintain confidential information. Ability to communicate only the facts to recipients or to decline to reveal information. Ability to project a professional, friendly, helpful demeanor.Intermediate computer knowledge: Ability to troubleshoot minor problems within a Windows OS, operates within a network environment, uses spreadsheet, database, word processing and internet applications proficiently. Learns new applications without difficulty and is able to aid others in immediate work area with computer questions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Offers leadership, education, and mentoring to unit nurses.
  • Participates in hiring/interview panels for nurses and demonstrates good judgment in interview process
  • Provides coaching to nursing staff, if corrective action is warranted, and then will provide information to Program Manager.
  • Completes annual evaluations in conjunction with the Program Manager for nursing staff
  • Provides adequate nursing staff for care of all patients
  • Proactively anticipates nursing needs of the unit, both defined and undefined
  • Facilitates and Participates in Root-Cause Analysis process for TrilliumPlace.
  • Orients Nursing interns and new nursing hires.
  • Facilitates nursing meetings and attends daily staffing meetings to provide consistent nursing representation and feedback
  • Maintains nursing policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Provides unit coverage when needed.
  • Acts at the liaison for our unit and the patient's primary care and other providers
  • Scheduled all follow up appointment for patients on the unit
  • Performs as ordered vital signs on all patients on the unit
  • Ability to provide patient staffing with other staff members, i.e Program Techs/Counselors
  • Provides CC residential nursing representation in committees within and out of department.
  • Provides education and training to nursing staff, including supervision of all nurses at a minimum of a bi-weekly.
  • Ensures competencies are up to date for all nursing staff and notifies nurses of educational opportunities
  • Review nursing performed program admission assessments
  • Ordering of program specific stock medications
  • Weekly auditing of controlled substance abuse log
