The Carle Auxiliary was founded in 1959 by a group of dedicated and energetic women. Today, a diverse team of volunteers serve in a variety of roles to ensure the comfort and well-being of our patients and staff.
When adults volunteer at Carle, they do so through the Carle Auxiliary. The volunteers serve Carle patients and staff to enhance their healthcare experience. They also sponsor a variety of fundraising activities in support of Carle’s mission.
Our student program is one of the largest hospital-based volunteering programs in the state with 500 students every semester. Our high school volunteers must be age 14 and older. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. August 29 (fall term), November 15 (spring term) or April 15 (summer term). In addition to an application, college and high school students seeking to volunteer must provide up-to-date immunization records.
Hospice Volunteers
Carle Hospice volunteers touch the lives of terminally ill patients and their families through the delivery of compassion and companionship. You can help by training as an In-Home Hospice Volunteer, Bereavement Volunteer, or an Administrative Volunteer.
Community Health Initiatives
By working closely with community partners, our volunteers help build a culture of health, ensuring children and their families, regardless of life circumstances, have an opportunity to be prosperous and live the healthiest life they can. Join us in our work to help families in Champaign-Urbana.
Volunteers help provide much needed services to adults who need just a little bit of extra help. CRIS Healthy Aging volunteers must work well with the elderly and be able to fulfill onboarding requirements for the role(s) they wish to pursue.
