Carle, Health Alliance gain Great Place to Work honors

Great people make great workplacesCarle and Health Alliance now reside on an esteemed list, the national Great Place to Work® in Healthcare for 2018

The certification marks a major milestone in ongoing efforts to expand upon the health system’s employee engagement and satisfaction initiatives. Last year, only one other hospital or healthcare system in Illinois received this designation.

“Being in the top decile for care and service has been a long-standing goal of ours, as has been receiving national recognition as an employer-of-choice designation. Such a designation instills confidence in all team members in our organization, as well as our patients and members, that choosing Carle is positive and life-changing,” said James C. Leonard, MD, president and CEO, The Carle Foundation.

Regina Bryson, RN, who works in Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology, couldn’t agree more.

“Whenever I have questions, the providers I work with are always available. Our Heart and Vascular Institute department managers invite experts to speak to staff over lunch or after hours to keep us up to date on changes and resources to help us provide the quality care our patients deserve,” she said.

Great Place to Work is the global authority on high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures. Millions of employees across the world participate in the Great Place to Work assessment process each year.

Great Place to Work evaluates an organization’s TrustIndex Survey and a cultural brief. The survey measures how much employees trust the people they work for, whether they have pride in what they do, and how much they enjoy their coworkers. The cultural brief spotlights details about an organization’s key data and metrics, overall people and business strategy, and programs offered to staff.

“We are so proud and excited about this achievement, thanks to the hard work of everyone in the health system,” said Lauren Schmid, vice president of Human Resources. “While we certainly want to celebrate this milestone, we’re not stopping there.

“We plan to use the survey’s feedback and insight from the engagement results to continue to foster an environment of trust, pride and engagement.”

Attracting and retaining the best possible employees and care providers is key to ongoing work at Carle and Health Alliance to create top-decile results in all facets of the organization.
