WHO CAN I CONTACT WITH QUESTIONS?
Please call (217) 365-7928 or email Mobile.HealthClinic@carle.com to connect with a Mobile Health Clinic representative directly.

WHY IS CARLE OFFERING THIS SERVICE?
As a longstanding healthcare provider for the region, offering a reliable resource for all, not just some, is an intrinsic value of ours. In the past several years, our approach to making access to care and support has grown. The Mobile Health Clinic is another avenue to ensuring that no matter the circumstance, quality health care is an option for every member of the Champaign-Urbana, IL, community.

WHAT SERVICES ARE PROVIDED AT THE MOBILE HEALTH CLINIC?

  • Chronic condition screening and education
  • Treatment of acute illness
  • Basic wellness care and assessments
  • School/preschool physicals and immunizations
  • Basic lab testing
  • Referrals and applications for social services
  • Addressing the root causes of health concerns facing our community

HOW MUCH DO SERVICES COST?
The mission of the mobile clinic is to bring care to the underserved areas of our community. We provide care to all who need it and believe the cost of health care should not stop anyone from receiving it. Insurance and financial assistance from community resources are accepted and will be utilized if available, but the Carle Mobile Health Clinic will see all patients regardless of their ability to pay.

HOW LONG IS A TYPICAL APPOINTMENT?
The typical appointment may last between 20-30 minutes but the length of each appointment will be determined by the level of care needed by each patient. While the clinic is largely scheduled by a first-come, first-served basis, care providers will also assess the most critical patients first.

CAN I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE MOBILE HEALTH CLINIC?
All visits, outside of OB/GYN, are available upon arrival. Care is based on medical priority.

WHAT ABOUT MY OBSTETRICS/GYNECOLOGY NEEDS?
The Carle Mobile Health Clinic will provide limited OB/GYN needs on a scheduled basis. Due to the additional requirements, clients looking for care for OB/GYN services at the Mobile Clinic should schedule a time to see a provider through Carle scheduling services.

WHO WILL PROVIDE MY CARE?
A dedicated team of physicians and providers will staff the Carle Mobile Health Clinic. Members of the care team will offer their experience in the areas of Pediatrics, Family Medicine and Obstetrics/Gynecology.

HOW MANY ROOMS ARE IN THE MOBILE HEALTH CLINIC?
There are two exam rooms on the clinic.

IS THERE A RESTROOM IN THE MOBILE HEALTH CLINIC?
The bathroom in the Mobile Health Clinic is for specimen collection only and is not wheelchair accessible. The clinic will always partner with a brick and mortar location to offer additional restroom options for clients and their families.

WILL I BE ABLE TO GET MY PRESCRIPTION?
While clinic staff will supply some immunizations, there will be no medications (including narcotics) located on the Mobile Health Clinic. If you receive a prescription during your visit, it will be submitted electronically to the pharmacy of your choice.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHERE THE MOBILE HEALTH CLINIC WILL BE?
The clinic is working with community partners to assess the areas of most critical need to establish service windows. The mobile clinic will also provide services at regularly scheduled locations throughout partnering neighborhoods.

You can find the Mobile Clinic touring schedule online at carle.org/MobileHealthClinic or by phone at (217) 365-7928.

IS THE MOBILE HEALTH CLINIC WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
Yes. The clinic is wheelchair accessible.

IS THE CLINIC CONNECTED TO MY ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORD?
Yes. Staff providing care on the mobile health clinic will have access to all patient electronic health records for Carle patients. The results of each visit will become part of a client’s ongoing electronic health record.

WHAT SERVICES ARE NOT PROVIDED?
The Carle Mobile Health Clinic intends to offer families who may not have access to visit a healthcare facility, for basic health needs, an additional option. Clients who need complex diagnostic testing or treatments should see their primary care physician. Clients suffering from life-threatening conditions should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. The Carle Mobile Health Clinic offers evaluation based on your presenting concern, examination and limited testing. If your problem exceeds this capability, you may be referred to your primary care physician, Convenient Care or the Emergency Department.

HOW CAN I INVITE THE MOBILE HEALTH CLINIC TO BE AT MY EVENT?
