Carle Health Certified Nurse-Midwives guide you through pregnancy, working with you through labor and childbirth and even after delivery. We are specially trained in labor support, and help patients to choose from a variety of coping methods during labor and delivery.
We also provide women's healthcare education and preventive health care exams for annual check-ups, planning a pregnancy, contraception and care for infections. They are supported by our obstetricians and perinatologist.
Midwives are specialists who have been trained in all parts of women's health with an emphasis in pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. Carle Health employs Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNM) in several locations throughout the organization, and is proud to offer one of the largest midwifery programs outside of Chicago at Carle Foundation Hospital. Certified Nurse-Midwives offer you a safe, satisfying family-centered childbirth based on a philosophy of total physical and mental wellness in which birth is a natural event. For women with low-risk pregnancies, nurse midwifery provides sensitive, personal care in a hospital setting by highly skilled healthcare professionals who have degrees in nursing and nurse-midwifery.
Carle Health Midwife services extend far beyond pregnancy and childbirth, and are available for women of all stages of their lives. Whether its for annual exams, nutrition services, menopause education, or other challenges as life goes along, our Certified Nurse-Midwives are there to support you.
