When to Request a Referral
You’ll need a referral from your doctor to get a sleep test. We then review the referral, and some of our sites require you to attend a consultation before testing. We want to make sure you get the education you need, and that testing is indeed appropriate.

Ask your doctor for a referral for a sleep test if you:

  • Snore or gasp for air while sleeping
  • Regularly have a hard time falling or staying asleep
  • Feel excessively tired during the day, even if you’ve slept the night before
  • Have difficulty performing your daily activities because you’re too tired

For sleep tests, you spend a night at the sleep lab. The test is noninvasive and takes place in a comfortable, bedroom-like environment. We use state-of-the-art equipment to monitor your sleep patterns, breathing, body movements and heart activity during sleep. Our specialists review your results and make treatment recommendations. They’ll also provide follow-up and long-term management of your sleep issues.
