Wound Therapy

A wound that does not respond to standard medical care within 30 days is considered a problem or chronic wound. The variety and complexity of nonhealing, chronic wounds present a particular challenge. These wounds often require intervention by specialists who can apply the most technologically advanced treatments and proven protocols to effectively treat chronic wounds

Our wound care specialists collaborate with experts from other areas of medicine when needed, including vascular surgery, plastic surgery, podiatry, infectious disease, nutrition, physical therapy and diabetes care. Our team will regularly consult with your primary care provider throughout your treatment.

Wound Healing Treatment

  • Cleaning the wound and converting it to an acute wound so the immune system will help heal it.
  • Moist, advanced wound dressings that reduce pain.
  • Dressings that reduce infection without antibiotics.
  • Cell- and tissue-based technologies to close the wound earlier.
  • Special devices to reduce pressure.
  • Compression wraps to reduce fluid buildup.
  • Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) to speed healing.
  • Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) for promoting new cell and blood vessels in non-emergency situations.  


Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
Since 2005, we have provided patients with specialized HBOT. With this state-of-the-art treatment, pure oxygen helps the body's natural healing process. 

Wounds that commonly benefit from HBOT include:
  • Severe diabetic foot ulcers.
  • Chronic bone infection (chest, hip bones, foot and ankle). 
  • Delayed radiation effects on bones (lower jaw).
  • Delayed radiation effects on soft tissue (breast, bladder and intestines).
  • Flaps or grafts.
  • Skin ulcers due to increased blood flow in arteries.
  • Minor crush injuries. 

Our team consists of certified hyperbaric technologists, nurses and trained hyperbaric physicians-two of whom are board certified in hyperbaric medicine.
