About this event
This class helps mom and baby make the transition from the hospital to home. This class also prepares you for your baby's arrival, with instructions on how newborns look when delivered, how to bathe your baby, and how to care for the umbilical cord and circumcision. You will receive information about newborn jaundice and newborn laboratory tests. Learning how to choose a pediatric provider and how to determine when to call him or her is part of this class. Breastfeeding and bottle feeding are discussed as well as safety issues such as car seats and sleep positioning. Discussion will include the importance of the new mother taking care of herself as well as her baby when they leave the hospital setting.
This class will be held from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in the 6 Hamilton conference room at Carle Health Methodist Hospital.
The fee for this class is $50 per couple.
