About this event
Carle Cancer Institute Normal will be hosting the Normal, Illinois chapter of SPOHNC (Support for People with Oral and Head and Neck Cancer) Support Group every other month in 2025.
Meetings will be led by a registered dietitian, a speech language pathologist and a social worker who will encourage peer-to-peer support, open discussion and social connection. They will also provide education on relevant and relatable topics associated with oral and head and neck cancer.
The SPOHNC organization was established in 1991 by Nancy Leopald, an oral cancer survivor, and is now a national organization that aims to raise awareness of oral and head and neck cancer, develop a network of relationships with healthcare providers and educate both patients and families on oral and head and neck cancers. There are currently 100+ chapters in the United States, offering information, support and encouragement.
