Back pain can include stiffness, tenderness or just pain. Pain can get better at night or while resting. Nerve pain can go down into the back of the leg (sciatica), numbness and tingling of the leg, weakness when moving and pain that worsens while walking or exercising.

What Causes Back Pain?
Causes of back pain include strained muscles, pinched nerves and sometimes a disc moving out of place. Discs are cushions between bones of the spine (vertebrae). Arthritis and osteoporosis, as well as, pain or disease in another part of the body, such as the hip, can cause back pain.
