Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Applications for the Carle Nurse Residency Program (CNRP) will be considered for inpatient opportunities,
including Med/Surg, CCU, ED and Maternal/Child nurse residency tracks. 
Ambulatory residency opportunites are also available, in Primary Care and select Specialty departments.

Applicants must be enrolled and prepared to graduate, or have previously graduated, from an accredited nursing program. Prior to beginning nursing orientation, the employee must have obtained an unencumbered Illinois State Registered Nurse license. 

All RNs hired on at Carle with less than 1 year of RN experience must obtain their BSN within 5 years of their start date.

Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required. 
GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.


New graduates, and those in their final 2 semesters of a nursing program are encouraged to apply.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The staff RN is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the philosophy of the institution. 

The Carle Nurse Residency Program (CNRP) is an evidence-based, comprehensive soution to assist new nurses in transitioning from academia to practice.
