· Number of beds on unit: 25
· Patient population: Surgical Care Unit- We are a Bariatric Center of Excellence , we care for a wide range of surgical procedures including colon resections, amputations, urology, plastics, and ENT procedures.
· Nurse to Patient ratio: Dayshift- 5 patients per nurse plus a charge nurse with no patients. Night shift 5/6 patients per nurse.
· Department culture and resources: Strong teamwork within the unit. Works closely with Springfield Clinic Residency Program.
· Frequent nursing skills/equipment used: Wound vacs, NG tubes, Drains, complex surgical patients.
· Tuition assistance:
o Full-time: $4000/calendar year
o Part-time: $2000/calendar year
· Health insurance begins on day 1
· Full-time benefits begin at 30 hours and part-time benefits begin at 20 hours

Individuals hired after August 1, 2013 must obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) within (5) years of start date. CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License in the State of Illinois upon hire and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
